Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian batting legend, is currently coaching his 11-year-old son, Arjun, at the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and working on a business project in England. The cricket rock-star is staying in UK now-a-days, in his house near the Lord’s cricket ground, which is known as the ‘Home of Cricket’.
Tendulkar, who has life-time membership of the MCC, goes to the club regularly with his son and teaches him batting in the indoor nets. He also imparts some batting techniques to other visitors of the venue.
The legend wants his son to become a world class cricketer at a very young age and represent Team India, reliving his father’s legacy. Tendulkar is at the twilight of his international cricket career and is likely to retire in near future.
Tendulkar is the world’s top scorer of all time, in both ODI and Test format of the game. He has played 177 Tests and 453 One Dayers, with 14692 and 18111 runs in both the versions respectively.
The Master Blaster is the first batsman to pile up 2000 runs in the history of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Recently, Sachin also earned the biggest and most awaited honour of his life i.e. The World Cup 2011 victory. The batting pundit steered the Men in Blue to lift the coveted Trophy at home, on April 2, 2011.
The superstar, who played in the Indian Premier League (IPL4) immediately after the World Cup, is currently at rest while his national team is playing a bilateral Test series in West Indies.
However, he plans to start practice for Team India’s upcoming four-match Test series against England. The batsman, who has 99 international hundreds to his name, is keen to complete 100 tons against England in a high-voltage Test series between former colonial masters and their dominion.
Apart from teaching cricket to his son, Tendulkar is working on a business project in Winchester. He is going to set up a cricket-based entertainment center, where families will come and enjoy different cricket themes with the image of Tendulkar and other legendary cricketers of the world.
Once the project is established, it will be an exciting innovation in the field of entertainment.
