Zaheer trying his 'hardest' to get fit before second Test

India’s pace spearhead Zaheer Khan, who was ruled out of the first Test at Lord’s due to a hamstring strain has said that he is trying his 'hardest' to get fit before the second match at Trent Bridge.

“I’m trying to be fit (for the second Test), I’m trying my hardest... That’s all that I can say. Not being able to bowl (after just 13.3 overs) at Lord’s was so frustrating... It’s a freak injury, this right hamstring strain,” Zaheer was quoted by The Telegraph.

The Indian management could be looking for Zaheer’s replacement in case is doesn’t get fit before Friday. But Zaheer has said that there has been “no discussion at all” between the team management and the BCCI.

“Sreesanth and Munaf Patel are already there, so that need hasn’t been felt till now,” a source informed.
