Sourav Ganguly dons Coach-cum-player’s Cap

Just as one legendary cricketer bid adieu to IPL this year after managing the coach-player role for the last 3 years, another equally great legend is set to return to IPL-5 with the
above mentioned dual role in an attempt to revive his team’s fortune. Sourav ‘Dada’ Ganguly will return to IPL-5 as the new coach of Pune Warriors India, suggests renowned cricket journalist Debashish Dutta from Nottigham.
As earlier known, Ganguly will represent PWI as a player for two more seasons. However, recent developments suggest that Ganguly is about to be roped in as coach as well, which will enable him to be in charge of the Pune based IPL team as was Warne for Rajasthan Royals. A PWI official from Lucknow has confirmed the axing of Assistant Coach Dermot Reeve, and Head Coach Geoff Marsh may also be going the same way following the lacklustre performance of Warriors in the previous IPL. The unnamed official said that Dada, with his credentials, would fit in the shoes nicely. Though official announcement is yet to be made, Dada’s fans may just seize this opportunity to start early celebrations.
